The aftermath of having been attacked - EmoTrance and Massage

A new client came for massage recently and during the first consultation he told me about being attacked and beaten up by a group of youths 1 year ago and how that had affected his back. The client told me that the attack had left him feeling very nervous and that if a young person happened to come near him when out and about he immediately felt like he wanted to lash out at them to protect himself. I suggested we do some emotional release work on his stress levels at the next appointment as it had got to the stage where he was afraid to go out.

At the next appointment we focused directly on the feelings of pressure building when someone was coming in his direction. He could feel the tightness in his chest and in his hands (like he wanted to punch the person). We dissolved the sensations and I replayed some scenario’s until I was satisfied that he felt more comfortable being outside. This took about 15 minutes and then we progressed to the massage.

On the next appointment the client reported how much better he felt. He felt quite calm when out and his girlfriend couldn’t believe the transformation. Previously she had been afraid to be out with him in case he hit an innocent person. The client explained how he still gets mounting pressure over a group of lads that hang around by his girlfriends house. We worked on his feelings about them, which this time presented in the arms and head, until he felt unbothered by their presence. Once again this took about 15 minutes and we followed it up with massage.

Today the client came for his 4th appointment with me. He is amazed at the transformation in himself. He says he feels like a different person, much happier and at last at peace with the world.  It is very satisfying as a practitioner when your skills of emotional transformation have had such a deep impact on a person.   I was able to help him recover from a very distressing incident far more effectively than just massaging his back alone would have done.
